Grit Guards are designed for use with a 5 Gallon (US) bucket to trap grit and debris at the bottom of your bucket, ensuring it is not caught up in your mitt and placed back on to the vehicle surface.
Four sections on the base of the Grit Guard settle the water and reduce any vortex created while rinsing your mitt, keeping grit and debris at the bottom.
